BUG: Logos Indexer crashes each time it is run – deleting index files does not fix the problem

Bug: Short Description

Logos4 indexer crashes each time it is run, whether automatically on Windows restart or by the Rebuild Index Command. Deleting the Index folder does not resolve the problem.

Software version:4.2 SR-1 (4.204.8289
Reported by William Messenger

Status: confirmed

Steps to reproduce

1.Start Windows
2.Logos4Indexer icon appears in taskbar 3 notification area with message “Logos 4 Bible software is indexing (26 minutes remaining)
3. Start Logos. Observe notice in search window “Some search results may be missing or incorrect while yoru library is being indexed.”
4. Remember that Logos index folder was deleted previously, following instructions given in a post on Logos Community Forum. Therefore no index is available and no search may be performed.
5. Observe that number of minutes remaining in indexing keeps increasing, reaching several hours at one point.
6. After about 15 minutes a window pops up saying “Logos Indexer has stopped working...” but closes itself before there is time to copy down the rest of the contents.
7. Checking the taskbar notification area confirms that the indexer is no longer running.
8. Attempting a search in Logos shows that the index has not been rebuilt.

Actual Result
Indexer crashes without rebuilding the index

Expected Result
Instead of crashing I expected the indexer to create the index
System Specs
Windows 7 Professional 64bit – all patches.

UPDATE

Problem solved by deleting all resources for KJV1900 and NASB95, then updating resources and reindexing. See http://community.logos.com/forums/t/27367.aspx.
