Notes

Some of the most popular suggestions on UserVoice have been “improve notes”. Unfortunately, these suggestions have tended to be dozens of separate feature requests rolled into one item. This makes it very difficult for Logos developers to know what is actually a popular enhancement, and what is just tagging along for the ride. Since we don’t have the resources to implement everything at once, we need to split these up into multiple cases, enabling you to indicate (with your votes) what’s actually most important to implement first.

In order to serve you and get a better sense of what customers would like to see, we have declined the rework notes function suggestion and have replaced it with the following suggestions (in rough order of popularity). Please give your votes to these new suggestions (or made additional, highly focused suggestions if your favorite item is not already covered):

• Import/Export notes to/from Evernote
• Images in notes
• Attach a single note to multiple passages
• Attach a note to a lemma
• Spellchecker in notes
• Tables
• File attachments
• Notes participate in link sets
• Speed up the notes editor
• Tags on notes
• Allow hyperlinks to other notes
• Highlight “My Content” search results in notes
• Merge/Split notes documents
• Drag and drop multiple notes between files
• More sorting options
• Highlight notes attached to references in all Bibles
• Add Underline button to editor toolbar
• Journalling feature
• Automatic date/timestamp
• “Create Note from Template” feature
• Sequence multiple note icons on a text by standard prioritization
• Add a reporting feature which pulls all notes on a given pericope into a printable, exportable file
• Add “Create New Notes Document” to right-click menu
• Add “Open Annotation” to right-click menu
• Allow prioritization of files (especially notes) in “My Content” section
• Retain “deleted” notes (and other user content) for a period of time – permitting a restore function
• Make it harder to delete notes / Use right click rather than red X for Delete
• Show the full text of the selection in the note title
• Include full Bible passages in note export
• Allow highlighting of text in footnotes (in resources)
• Add a function to the highlighting feature set to allow a person to add numbers (with a parenthesis before and after the number) before a selection of text. For example... (1) firstly I will... (2) secondly we will... (3) thirdly they should...
• Within the highlighting feature set, add the ability to assign a Shortcut key to the “erase” function.
