Items in this section are available with a Logos Now subscription. Improvements and bug fixes listed further down are freely available to all users.

Biblical Theologies Guide Section

Added a new section to passage-based Guides which provides results from Biblical Theology resources and functions similarly to other sections such as Systematic Theologies and Confessional Documents.

  • Results can be viewed by Subject or Resource.
  • Subject categories are Prolegomena, Theology Proper, Bibliology, Christology, Pneumatology, Soteriology, Anthropology, Hamartiology, and Other.
  • Resource groups are Johannine Literature, New Testament, Old Testament, Pauline Epistles, Reference, Thematic, and Whole Bible.

Custom Homepage Layouts

To save a custom layout, create the layout (from the defaults or from scratch), click the Layouts button, hover the mouse over the type of layout you are customizing, click the downward arrow and select “Replace with current layout”. From this menu you can also restore the default layouts.
Custom layouts can be saved for:

  • Go to Bible Reading – Bible passages from a Reading Plan
  • Go to Passage – entering a passage in the “Go” box
  • Go to Search – when running a search from the “Go” box
  • Go to Topic – when entering a query in the “Go” box and selecting an item from the dropdown
  • Go to Lectionary Reading – Bible passages from a lectionary

Added the ability to replace the default layouts that open when opening links from the Home Page, such as from the “Go” box or opening links to a lectionary or reading plan.

Hebrew Bible Manuscript Explorer

This interactive allows you to explore all sorts of data about manuscripts of the Hebrew Bible. See the About panel in the interactive for more detailed documentation on contents and scope.

Lemma in Passage

Divided the results for this Guide section into “Lemmas in Reference” and “Other Lemmas”.

  • “Lemmas in Reference” performs as previously, giving hits on where a lemma is quoted from a Bible reference in another resource such as a commentary.
  • “Other Lemmas” provides results for lemmas which are discussed in a resource but not quoted directly from the original source material.

The Lemma in Passage service now provides Lemma data in the Context Menu for resources that aren’t tagged with lemma information, such as “A Grammatical Analysis of the Greek New Testament”.

Systematic Theologies Interactive

This interactive allows you to explore different systematic theologies. See the About panel in the interactive for more detailed documentation on contents and scope.

Bug Fixes

Corresponding Words

Fixed bug that caused the Corresponding Words Visual Filter can’t be set to Click if Hover is selected on Mac.
Fixed bug that caused the Bible text from footnotes and superscripts to disappear prematurely on Mac when having the Corresponding Words visual filter enabled and set to Hover.

Sympathetic Notes

Improved performance opening the Visual Filters menu for users with a large quantity of notes.

Visual Filters

Improved the performance of the Passage List Visual Filter with extremely large numbers of passage lists.

New Features

Context Menu

Added several items to the Context Menu:

  • Added Copy option to the Morph tab
  • Sermon Themes tab is now listed in the right side
  • Literary Typing tab is now listed in the right side
  • Labels (Personal and Logos) tabs are now listed in the right side
  • Added Copy and Search options to the Labels tab

Guides

Added a new “Interactives” guide section to Passage Guide, Sermon Starter Guide, and Topic Guide. This section provides links to relevant interactive resources for the given guide key.
A few examples:

  • A Topic Guide on “Temple” will give several results from Before and After: Biblical Sites
  • A Sermon Starter Guide on “Law: Ten Commandments” will have a link to Counting the Ten Commandments
  • A Passage Guide on Exodus 20 will give links to articles on ancient altars and priestly garments from Interactive Infographics from the Faithlife Study Bible

Information

Personal Labels are now listed in the “Other References” section of the Information panel.

Interactives

Interactive resources that have an Indexes (Bible, Bible (BHS), etc) section in the resource information panel support Panel Linking functionality such as the Psalms Explorer and Hebrew Cantillations.

Psalms Explorer

Added Panel Linking functionality to the Psalms Browser. (Thread)

Resource Panel

Added support for panel linking to the following tools:

  • Atlas – links with Bible references and entities
  • Factbook – links with Biblical entities
  • Media Browser – links with Bible references and entities
  • Visual Copy – links with Bible references and entities
  • Wikipedia – links with Factbook

Search history now includes the reference range searched in the title of the history item.

  • This includes the History tool as well as the downward arrow in the top-right corner of the Search panel.

The Propositional Outlines dataset is searchable through the {Section} extension, e.g., {Section <PropositionalOutline = Topic>}

Updater

The command “update resources” now also triggers a download of the most recent license file as well.
Removed the dependency on BITS for downloading resources and program updates.

Bug Fixes

Ask the Author

Fixed a bug where the software could crash when trying to use Ask the Author with a hidden resource.

Fixed typos in the Search Suggestions. (Thread)

Clippings

Removed non-functional text color selector on Mac. (Thread)

Removed Send to Inline Search from the Panel Menu since it was causing a crash. (Thread)

Community Tags

Removed context menu options for Community Tags that would yield no results.

Context Menu

Fixed bug that caused “Forty” to be tagged with “Adjective Satellite”. It is now correctly tagged as “Adjective”. (Thread.)
Fixed bug that caused the Context Menu to omit referent data.

Copy Bible Verses

Fixed crash when editing or creating a new style in the Copy Bible Verses tool on Mac. (Thread.)

Database

Fixed a Database bug that would cause the software to crash. (Thread, Thread)

Guides

Fixed a graphical bug where the Interactives section would disappear and reappear when loading more results in the Sermon Starter Guide and Topic Guide.
Fixed bug that caused the Template type dropdown to be empty in Guide Template Editor on Mac.

Highlighting

Fixed bug that caused highlighting styles to not be displayed in grey text boxes in LLS:ESVSB. (Thread.)

Information

Fixed potential crashes in the Information panel.
Fixed bug that caused the ✣ character in LLS:BHQCAPP to not display correctly in Information panel.

Fixed a bug that caused the program to crash when sending a search to inline search. (Thread)

Interactive Resources

Fixed bug that caused the links that navigate to the Biblical People Visual Timelines and Canon Comparison interactives to be incorrect.

Layouts

Fixed a bug where a returned resource saved in a Layout could crash the software. (Thread)

Library

Fixed a bug that reverted the display setting on Library after restarting the software. This bug only affected the pop up Library not when the Library was accessed in a floating window or when opened in a new tab.
Fixed a bug where the software wouldn’t respect local computer time when searching for updated date. (Thread)

Notes

Fixed a bug that caused the software to crash when creating a new notes database for a first time launch.

Personal Books

Fixed a bug that hid the delete button when trying to remove personal books on Mac.

Fixed a bug that caused a crash when using Popular Highlights with Visual Copy on Mac.

Resource Panel

Fixed a bug that caused the Table of Contents to resize with the Resource Text Size slider in the Panel Menu.
Fixed a bug where the previous resource information could display when changing between parallel resources. (Thread)
Fixed bug that caused “All parallel resources” to be missing from the parallel resources menu. (Thread.)

Search Engine

WITHIN 0 WORDS search is no longer broken in KJV1900. (Thread.)

Startup

Fixed issue with splash screen images for Verbum and Noet on certain high-dpi screens.

Fixed bug that caused the Syntax Search document to add an “af” in front of Hebrew lemmas and give zero search results on Mac. (Thread.)

Fixed a patching error when downloading new resources and updating existing resources resulting in “Catastrophic failure” in the log. (Thread)
