 How to Prioritize resources

Bible Word Study (Lemma & Dictionary), Context (Right-Click: Verse, Lemma, Strong’s), Exegetical Guide (Apparatuses in Textual Variants), New tab “+”, Parallel Resources, Passage Guide (Commentaries), Resource selection, ... list resources in your prioritized order followed by defaults. You can prioritize the order of resources that appear before Logos defaults, which may not be what you expected. To do this go to Library, click on Prioritize and add resources to the list – see How to Prioritize resources for more information.

Sample list organisations appear below, and it is suggested that you type a filter in the Library Find bar
to see resources in that category (abbreviations are accepted e.g. type:encyclop to specify encyclopedias/bible dictionaries).

5 Hebrew/Aramaic Lexicons type:Lexicon subj:(Hebrew, Aramaic)
5 Bible Dictionaries type:Encyclopedia Bible
6 Commentaries (or Series) type:Commentary

Note: The minimum number (No.) of resources is a guide only. Five is the maximum number of resources to appear in the Context menu, but you can specify more in case a value is not found in some of your top 5. Passage Guide initially lists ten commentaries, but you can change that (Logos 6+). The Parallel Resources menu can list 10 or more resources.

Note: Bibles and Commentaries are both accessible via bible passage references, so if you prioritize one or two commentaries (or Series) among your top five bible resources they will be listed in the Context menu for a bible reference. For example:

  • ESV (Preferred bible)
  • NET (many translation footnotes)
  • NKJV
  • NIV
  • Bible Knowledge Commentary
  • NRSV

——> NRSV is included for Apocryphal/Deuterocanonical books that are not in other bibles

——> Bible Knowledge Commentary is a one volume resource that comments on all verses in Protestant canon so can use right click context for a verse to quickly open commentary

——> United Bible Societies’ Handbooks (series of 56 volumes) is a series example that could be prioritized ahead of Bible Knowledge Commentary. United Bible Societies’ Old Testament Handbook Series lacks several Old Testament books so only appears in right click context for books included in series.

Note: Highest priority Apostolic Fathers (Greek) and Septuagint appear in Bible Word Study (BWS) Textual Searches for a Greek word.
You can mix Hebrew bibles and Septuagint bibles depending on your preference for Greek or Hebrew in the Old Testament.

Resources you can Prioritize after the above ones:
