Base Packages and Features
When you upgrade you have the choice of a Base Package with a Feature upgrade, or a Feature upgrade only. Feature upgrades offer datasets, features, and resources that are designed to help you do more with the books you already own e.g. guides, workflows, tools. There is a Starter Feature set, a Bronze Feature set, a Silver Feature set and a Full Feature set. Silver has all the Features/tools of Full, but lacks the more advanced Original Language Datasets and some Catholic & NET Bible Interlinears, but see this for yourself.
In addition to the Standard base packages you will find that there are denominational packages for Anglican, Baptist, Lutheran, Pentecostal & Charismatic, Methodist & Wesleyan, Reformed, Orthodox, SDA, and Messianic Jewish. Catholic users can use the Verbum application with their base packages.
If you are interested in Original Language study as a Student or Professor, you should consider an upgrade via Logos Academic (scroll down to see it).
Considerations
As a minimum, Logos 9 needs Windows 10 (version 1607 or later) or macOS 10.14 and above. It will not be supported if it installs on older versions.
The Base packages and Feature upgrades will give you a discount for titles/features you already own (dynamic pricing), so that you will pay only for titles/features that are “New to you”. Note that the discount will be relative to the price structure of the package, so it cannot be the same as the price you paid if purchased as individual items (or even a collection).
In addition, you should consider introductory offers and bonuses, and the Academic Discount for students and faculty.
A Faithlife Connect subscription will give you a Logos 9 Feature set and some books + ongoing benefits like free Ebooks and access to Courses. And you benefit with a special introductory offer on base packages (you will see the Connect discount on the product page). Note that you don’t need a Feature upgrade unless you want to own a Feature set.
If you already own a base package (Logos 4 or higher) then you can:-
- upgrade via any base package(s); OR
- upgrade via a Feature set or a subscription; OR
- upgrade via a combination of the above e.g. base package(s) & feature set, or subscription & base package(s).
If you are new to Logos, or never owned a base package (Logos 4 or higher), you can:-
- choose any base package(s), and
- choose whether to combine it with another Feature set, or a subscription.
When available in 2021, you can choose a free Logos 9 Basic Library to use with your current Library, or to experiment with, as it will have a few resources and datasets.
Feature Comparison
Compares the features in Logos 9 with those available in earlier versions and indicates
what you can expect from a free Logos 9 Basic Library (when available) when used with your current Library.
Note: if you already have any of these features they will still be available in Logos 9.
