Logos 4.3 Beta 13
Logos 4.3 Beta 13 (Mac and Windows v4.30.0.1437) was released on July 20, 2011.
New Features
- Personal Books
- Metadata and the cover image for Personal Books will sync between computers. Presently, source documents and the book itself will not.
- Resources
- Added ‘edition’ information to distinguish between Logos editions, eBooks, and User Created books. Additional information will appear on the info panel of the book and in the ‘Edition’ column of the detailed library view.
Bug Fixes
- Personal Books
- Fixed bug that caused repeated footnote numbers to all utilize the text of the first footnote of that number.
- Removed error and warning count for successfully compiled books. Replaced with ‘Build successful.’
- Fixed bug that caused crash when adding a new book if another book was selected.
- Changed view of the selected book to be consistent with the formatting for the active note in a Note document.
- Added field label to ‘Type’ and ‘Language’ dropdown selectors in edit view.
- Improved reliability of building multiple books at the same time.
- Fixed bug regarding priority of text color when using ‘Words of Christ’ field. Priority is applied text color, then ‘Words of Christ’ (red), then default text color.
- Resource Panel
- Strong’s number links in the Reverse-Interlinear pane now open the prioritized lexicon.
- Syntax Search Document
- Added a vertical scrollbar to enable scrolling through a lengthy Previous Searches list.

- Exegetical Guide
- Word by Word Settings and selected Resource are remembered for same passage after panel is closed and reopened or after Refresh Guide (F5) is selected from panel menu.
- Library Panel
- Fixed bug that prevented book descriptions from displaying in the info panel.
- Note Document
- Fixed bug that caused the hint text in a new note to be duplicated on Lion OS X.
- Passage Analysis
- Fixed bug that prevented resource picker dropdown from being dismissed normally after clicking on Cluster Graph.
- Personal Book
- Fixed bug that included scroll bar in Description field even when unnecessary.
- Fixed bug that prevented scrolling in resource language drop down in edit view.
- Fixed bug that prevented a book from being recompiled successfully if the text had been right-clicked during the same session.
- Fixed bug that prevented a mouse click from bringing focus to the Description box in edit view.
- Search Panel
- Fixed numeral styling in Grid View of results.
- Fixed bug that caused crash when trying to reorder the Analysis view of Morph results by certain columns.

- Fixed bug that caused crash when returning to a guide that had a ‘starred’ commentary in it.
- Personal Books
- Fixed bug that did not allow a body file to be deleted by right-clicking on it and clicking Delete.

- Fixed crash caused by adding an agreement rule. (See this thread.)
- Word Puzzle
- Fixed crash caused by running a Word Puzzle on a specific passage in a specific resource. (See this thread.)
Known Issues
Known Issues for Mac
- Immediate Compare (F7)
- The popup window is blank except for the Bible links. The passage is not displayed.
Previous Known Issues
- Personal Books
- Books compiled in the beta cycle will expire, at the latest, when 4.3 is shipped to the stable channel due to further changes that will be made.
- Personal Books from LDLS3 (*.lbxpbb) cannot be read in Logos 4; they will need to be recompiled from the original sources. For more information, see this thread.
- Not all formatting is preserved, e.g. margins, indentation, paragraph and text spacing, text effects and word art, highlighting, and fill effects are ignored.
- Text boxes, charts, embedded documents and other similar features are not supported.
- From within the PB panel, a Personal Book cannot be dragged to the Shortcut bar or to a particular location on the screen to control where the book opens. (See this thread.)
- Although a resource can be built with the “Bible” type, it will not function correctly as a Bible in Logos 4 (e.g., Copy Bible Verses, Bible Text Only, etc., do not work).
- Sync
- Sync of new/edited Copy Bible Verses styles will fail on a stable install where the login is also used for a beta install. (See this thread or this thread.)
