Substitute your actual username for username; and random is a random bunch of letters & numbers but there’s only one folder inside Logos4\Data and that is it.
Windows Note: Since it’s inside a hidden folder you’ll need to turn on the “Show hidden files and folders” option under Control Panel | Folder Options | View.

Why does Logos install into your username directory?
The simple answer is to avoid the need for Administrator rights (permission elevation) every time it is installed, updated or run; particularly during the frequent background updates. This is becoming common, and is what Google Chrome does, for example.
Another factor is that Logos requires a login with a unique user identity, so Logos decided it would be much easier to install in the user profile. This also supports a church (or home) computer shared by two people who WANT separate Logos accounts, profiles, settings (and resource collections).
To use it by two separate users on the same computer, you will need to install it in both user profiles. If you install the same Logos account in different user profiles (or different computers) it will sync settings, documents, history, etc. between those two installations.
Why doesn’t Logos work when I install it as Administrator?
Logos is designed as a per-user application, so if the installer ever needs Admin rights it will request them e.g. to install the .NET Framework or update system-wide fonts. But if you install it using “Run as administrator” you will experience problems with regular updates of the application (and will need to run Logos the same way for the update to succeed).
Why is the required disk space so large?
Logos has to store your Resources & Documents together with datasets & images for many of its features, and it builds a large Index which makes Logos’ search speed possible. An 1100 book library will take about 14 GB.
Is there a faster way to install Logos on another computer?
It is possible to install Logos onto another computer without downloading and/or indexing if you use an unofficial procedure to copy resources and indexes from the first installation.

Note that all procedures will save downloading your resources again, which may be a concern with large libraries or imposed “data caps” where some ISPs restrict download amounts before premium charges are applied.
How do I install Logos without The Internet?
Faithlife no longer have a product to install Logos without an Internet connection.
Can I uninstall Logos Prerequisites after a successful install?
No! It is required for Logos to run. If you already uninstalled it and Logos is crashing now, just reinstall Prerequisites and you should be fine. No need to reinstall Logos.
Indexing
How long will Indexing take?
Initial indexing can be a long process, depending on factors like CPU speed, RAM and the number of resources being indexed. Since almost every library is different, and more importantly, since there are so many computer configurations, estimating the time is just a guess.
Reported times vary from 2 hours to 2 days but many users report between 4 and 12 hours. You should consider indexing overnight whilst you sleep!
Can I see how much longer the indexing will take?
In a way you can. Once indexing has begun hover your mouse over the blue Logos icon in system tray (Windows) or menu bar (Mac OS X) and you will get an estimate of how complete it is as a percentage.
Is there a way to pause indexing?
There is an option to pause the indexing, the pause time is set for 4 hours.
This is done by right clicking on the Blue Logos icon that appears in the System Tray (Windows) or Menu Bar (Mac OS X).
What happens when books are updated or after I purchase books?
Depending on your Settings books will be automatically downloaded or you will receive a notification. You won’t know the content of the download and the size can be smaller than you anticipate because Logos uses “patches” for many updates. When downloading has completed the books will be copied to the resource folder and indexed.
General facts about indexing
The Logos Indexer builds one main Library Index to search all your resources together with a Bible Index for bibles only, thus avoiding the need to search one-by-one through each book in your library or “collection”. The initial indexing process can take a long time but the upshot is very fast and thoroughly comprehensive searching to help you find what you need.
When new or updated books are added to your library they are built into a temporary Supplemental index which is then merged with the existing Index. Thus the time taken is considerably less than a full Index.
Indexing Tips and Info
Allow indexing to complete the first time it runs without pausing or restarting the program. Once the main Library index is built, you will be able to quickly search your entire library.
To check indexing status, hover over the small, blue Logos icon in the Windows System Tray in the lower right corner of your screen. You can right click to pause or resume indexing.
