Logos 4.1 Beta 9 (v4.10.4.4282) was released on August 24, 2010.
New Features
- “Logos Smart Tags” for Office 2003 and above implemented (under ‘Additional Actions’ in Office 2010). See the Logos Smart Tags support article for more information on this feature.
- Passage Lists
- “Add passages from: ... highlighter style” implemented.
- Print/Export
- Image exporting added to Passage Analysis tools.
- Syntax Search printing and exporting implemented.
- Reading Plan
- Added hyperlinks to reading plan items in appointment descriptions for plans exported to Outlook.
- Sentence Diagram
- “Copy” context menu option (Ctrl+C) supports copy/paste into other applications. The diagrams are pasted in as images.
- Keyboard shortcuts implemented to apply Bold (Ctrl+B), Italic (Ctrl+I), and Underline (Ctrl+U) formatting to text.
- Margin settings have been added to the ‘Page’ drop-down on toolbar. This setting is carried over to the Print/Export panel.
- Pasting text will create a single text shape with the pasted text.
- Text can be pasted from Logos resources, notes, etc., and from other applications.
Bug Fixes
- Biblical People/Places
- Fixed crash (NullReferenceException) when opening Biblical People or Places directly or from other panels.
- Gestures
- Close Tab gesture (down, right) works in a floating panel.
- Read Aloud status is updated on panel menu when Read Aloud gesture is used (i.e., ‘Stop reading aloud’).
- Start Read Aloud gesture brings up Audio bar on main toolbar and Stop Read Aloud gesture closes it.
- Graph Bible Search Results
- “Export to Excel” is removed from toolbar and replaced with “Send to: Excel” in Print/Export panel.

- Default filenames for Clause Visualizer resources will include the period if one is present in the title (e.g., OpenText.Org Syntactically Analyzed Greek NT: Clause Analysis). This is a change from Beta 8.
- Filenames with periods are saved properly.
- Headers and Footers are included with WYSIWYG printing.
- Improved appearance of exported Compare Pericope analysis tool.
- Improved spacing, indents, and section headers in RTF, Text and HTML exports.
- Note icon color is correctly exported to HTML when an apostrophe is included in Notes document title.
- Passage List export respects Compact view.
- Passage List headings are printed/exported in bold style.
- “Print as exported” checkbox has been replaced with a combo box that includes two options: “Print as shown on screen” and “Print as exported.”
- Reading plan ‘Calendar’ view print/export panel now includes export options for ‘List’ view. ‘Calendar’ view can only be printed or exported to .xps.
- Self Test exam and quiz export to plain text (.txt) has been improved.
- “Send to: Excel” export option added to Search and Graph Bible Search results.

- “Text Document” export option is removed from Clause Visualizer resource, Aligned search, Graph Bible Search Results, and Passage Analysis Print/Export panels.
- Reverse Interlinear
- Fixed bug that caused the Interlinear pane to be empty the next time the reverse interlinear Bible was opened, if the pane was toggled on when the Bible was closed.

- Context menu options that are not supported when only a text flow word is selected are disabled: Cut, Copy, and Delete. (Paste will only be available when there is something to paste from the clipboard.)
- Line style is no longer applied to wrapping column resize lines.
- Shapes are selected when they are right clicked, enabling use of context menu actions.
- Style options on the top toolbar are disabled when they’re not applicable to the selected shape.
- Text and formatting UI is improved.
- Wrapping column lines are hidden when not hovered or selected.

- When Logos 4 is using the Spanish UI, the search field drop-downs (e.g., “Todo texto bíblico”) will be included in the Visual Filter search. (See Known Issue.)
Known Issues
- Bible Word Study
- The ‘Hebrew Words’ ring graph does not display the English glosses.
- Reading Plan
- The M’Cheyne plan locks to January 1 of the selected year. A workaround is to use the ‘Adjust plan from here’ option, although the date in settings will remain ‘Jan 1’.
- Sentence Diagramming
- Alternate text insertion has been temporarily disabled.
- Wrapping columns do not always scroll outside of the document properly.
- Visual Filter document
- Search field drop-downs are missing in the Visual Filter search with the Swedish UI in Logos 4. This will be corrected when translation is complete.
